Golly I’m so sorry for being absent I really am still drawing — just … not posting….
; ) here are a few very silly scribbles for paddy with the ym crew —
I also have … a lot of unanswered questions… I hope it’s alright that I just quickly run them through here!! The quickest way to get an answer from me is to send un-anonymous - but I really appreciate it nonetheless!!
i’m terribly curious~ please continue yellow morning! i’m dying now~ >A<
I’m sorry this (above^) can’t really be considered a continuation, can it — as it happens, I am trying to put together another few pages (or even just snippets)…! Thanks so much for your interest!!! (*´～｀*)
Hi Yuki ^^! i’ve discovered your art (by complete accident while googling stuff!) over the summer and have been stalking your tumblr ever since ;; Just wanted to say your art has inspired me to practice drawing again when i had lost interest in it. Your style is so unique and gorgeous, i hope one day i will be able to catch you on livestream ;; I hope to improve one day to become as impressive as you! Much love!!! <3 (sorry for creepiness!! ”)
Aiyo thank you very muc…h…. o)—-< …..!!!! what creepiness?? I’m very flattered that you would send such a kind message through - please keep enjoying your drawing and I’m sure that you’ll be stunning everyone with your art in no time (and be much more impressive)!
I love you art ! Ahh you have such a beautiful style. I love the details and coloring… Would you mind sharing your color palette and show a small process on how you color hair and skin? @////@
Thank you very much : ) !! ;;; The honest truth is that I never use a colour palette for skin or … much else, really;; Sorry that’s not helpful - ( ꒪﹃ ꒪)
I’ve put together a little process for you in literally in the past few minutes
Here’s a super quick scribble! I slap down any old peachy shade for the skin (this is just Toki’s). I then make the lines much lighter, maybe 40% opacity - and keep painting base colour underneath. I’ve already started to blot out where there’s shade on her skin with a darker shade of pink.
I blot some shade in with whatever colour looks right … ;;;; and begin to shape the face a bit more, using some browns to go over my lines. Some rosier cheeks, redder lips. After merging the layers together, I add some highlights and keep … drawing over …
I keep adjusting colours, adding some overlay, rendering … until I think it resembles hair or skin (which it doesn’t really!!) and that’s basically the whole process! For making parts lighter, I usually paint in a layer (at 30%) over the top, with a lighter colour. Then adjust how strong I want the highlight to be —
You may be able to tell that I’m actually not very adept with colour picking, but I try to make things work : ) ;;; Go with whatever makes you feel most comfortable!!
